Knock, Knock - Who's There? BOO!

It was a dark and stormy night; five teens fell in torrents, except at occasional intervals, when they were checked by a frightened friend who swept up the halls...rattling along the stairs, and fiercely agitating one other teen that struggled with their birthday plan of pranks.

BOO!

Halloween brought us not only tricks, treats, and stinky feet but the debut of the (short) trailer for YUTE Productions' new short, BOO!, and November 2nd, the short was released via their YouTube channel, YUTETV. Directed by young actor David Henrie (Wizards of Waverly Place) and cousin Johnny Salvatore, the short follows the plight of six teens as they have a run-in with a spooky janitor legend...and soon only one teen remains.

Triggering a lot of scares and a lot of laughs, BOO! creates the perfect blend of humor and suspense. Watching BOO! fondly reminded me of the student shorts (the good ones) filmed by my peers during my high school years, and the talented cast and crew do an excellent job of entertaining toward the youth audience (with just a regular camera and zero financing to boot). David Henrie has quite a directing career ahead of him.

The Magical World of D23 Expo

There’s been a lot of hubbub surrounding this past weekend’s D23 Expo, and some news and photos are still trickling in. Those able to attend already witnessed the magic of the first annual Disney convention, but for those who didn’t get to experience all the fun, you’re probably wondering just what makes this D23 Expo so special…or maybe you’re just aching to see the best parts. So, if you’re like me and you missed out on all the magic, through my findings I’ve put together some of my favorite D23 moments, from the laugh-out-loud hilarious to the cute and adorable, the stranger than strange to the just plain fun.

And then, after getting a glimpse of the long-awaited return to 2D animation, we step right back into...technology. But no ordinary technology - technology magic! Love those lights.

Get ready for Disney World's Fantasyland expansion. I got more excited over the amazing visuals than I'll probably get over the actual thing.

And last but not least, when the Wizards of Waverly Place cast made an appearance, David Henrie got an unexpected marriage proposal from a rather over-enthusiastic fan.

This might just be enough bait for me to get to Anaheim next September. Just so I can take my own photos of the hilarious, the adorable, the strange, and the fun. Seems there's enough of it out there.

8/4/09 - Make It Happen Never Happend on Wizards Soundtrack

Shh.... I've just discovered something amazing. As in magically amazing. I mean, I know the show's about wizards, but I never once thought they would make a song actually disappear. Hmm...Walt Disney Records must have something truly clever up its sleeve.

A song has gone missing from the Wizards of Waverly Place Soundtrack. Yesterday, after a reminder via Twitter (it's funny to think what we all did before Twitter), I surfed over to Amazon and thought I'd give the CD tracks a little preview. Little did I know, the one song I'd been expecting to be present on the soundtrack was surprisingly nonexistent - Make It Happen. It had mysteriously disappeared.

Now, I find it just a little strange that Make It Happen isn't featured on the series soundtrack because the song is:

a. Performed by Selena Gomez (Alex) and David Henrie (Justin)
b. As far as I can tell, fairly popular with series fans
c. Actually featured in a series episode - "Make It Happen"

But I figure it's all good because every little thing she does is magic happens for a reason. And I have decided to move past my minor disappointment and will more than likely still get my hands on the CD this month (my sister and I are fans, after all). Check out the track listing:
