7/17/09 - Top Ten SpongeBob Ways To Part-ay!

Ten years ago, I sat in my room watching SpongeBob in secret because it was no longer “cool” for kids my age to watch Nicktoons. Now, you can’t even eat at Burger King without hearing about the exuberant little sponge – mainly because he’s usually there watching you in toy-form. So SpongeBob is a whole decade old…now what? Well, just in case you’re a huge party person and at a loss as to how to show your devotion to the spongy dude, here’s ten ways to celebrate in style:

1. Bake a SpongeBob-shaped cake – with pineapple-flavored cake for those really creative types.

2. For those wanting a more juicy treat for the summer season, mix up some strawberry-flavored JELL-O jigglers. You don’t even have to create a new design – just grab your favorite star-shaped cookie cutter and watch Patrick multiply!

3. Forget ordering pizza. Krabby Patties are the way to go! Just set up the grill out front and flip some burgers to serve to your party guests. Don’t forget – it’s bun-patty-ketchup-mustard-onions-lettuce-pickles-cheese-tomatoes-top bun, in that order.

4. Turn up the boom box and play some SpongeBob tunes. Skip to Doin’ The Sponge or Doin’ The Krabby Patty to get your lazy friends up and moving with you.

5. Invite a group of friends over for a night of gut-busting laughs with a special screening of The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie.

6. Play a rousing game of SpongeBob Life or Monopoly with friends or family. But if “Mr. Krabs” gets banker, be wary!

7. Girls: Coordinate a SpongeBob Sleepover with your best friends, complete with SpongeBob PJs and giant yellow body pillow fights.

8. Boys: Grab your SpongeBob skateboards, bicycles, sneakers and head out to crash the girls’ sleepover. Always remember to wear your SpongeBob helmets – those girls can be vicious.

9. Grab some pals and reenact your favorite episode for everyone in the neighborhood. Bonus points for puppet shows!

10. Not least but always last, Number Ten – run to your local Wal-Mart or party store and get one of those SpongeBob piñatas. If you really want to mess with everyone, record random bits of SpongeBob dialogue to put inside with all the candy.

Hope you SpongeBob fans have ten times the fun with your summer festivities. Remember to switch the channel to Nickelodeon every once in a while this weekend (July 17th through 19th) for a marathon of favorite SpongeBob episodes!
